It is with great pleasure that I extend my
profound greetings to the Sindh Revenue Board
(SRB) on the publication of their Annual Report
for FY 2023-24. I am delighted by the significant
strides SRB has made in revenue collection and
efficient public service delivery during this fiscal
year.
Surpassing the assigned revenue target with an
impressive 28 percent growth—without
increasing tax rates and in the face of a
challenging economic environment—reflects
SRB’s dedication and resilience. This
achievement speaks volumes about SRB’s
commitment to excellence.
Notably, SRB has contributed 61 percent of the
total provincial tax collection in FY 2023-24,
consistently demonstrating its role as the
foremost contributor to Sindh’s fiscal health. The
Board’s exceptional performance has played a
pivotal role in stabilizing provincial finances and
driving Sindh toward economic prosperity.
Beyond revenue collection, I commend SRB’s
focus on taxpayer facilitation. By modernizing
business processes, simplifying tax procedures,
reducing compliance burdens, and enhancing
service quality, SRB has fostered a more
conducive business environment in Sindh.
Additionally, SRB’s active role in harmonizing
sales tax, both with the World Bank and the
National Tax Council (NTC), has greatly
contributed to Sindh’s ease of doing business.
As we continue navigating the complexities of
economic recovery, SRB’s role becomes
increasingly critical. I am confident that SRB
will continue to push boundaries, embrace
innovation, and uphold a culture of excellence.
I extend my sincere appreciation to SRB’s
leadership and team for setting a standard of
excellence as a model revenue collection
agency.
With an ambitious target of Rs. 350 billion for
FY 2024-25, the government places full
confidence in SRB’s capabilities. I am certain
that, as in the past, SRB will rise to this
challenge and achieve new milestones.
