It gives me great pleasure in acknowledging the stellar performance of Sindh Revenue Board (SRB) in FY 2022-23 during which SRB not only achieved the assigned target of Rs. 180 billion but also surpassed the same with an impressive growth of 21% over the collection of last year. Despite facing formidable challenges in FY 2022-23 i.e. sluggish economy, devastating impact of floods and low GDP growth, SRB’s revenue collection of Rs. 185.5 billion testifies the professional competence, efficiency and commitment to excellence in the organization.
Ever since its establishment in 2010, SRB has consistently supported the Government in fulfilling the objectives of the devolution made through the 7th NFC Award which is evident from the fact that SRB is contributing significantly to the Sindh exchequer and that its collection constitutes the major contributor to Provincial own source revenue.
This FY, SRB has also continued its endeavor to modernize its processes through digitization, taxpayer facilitation and improved business processes. Moreover, SRB’s active participation in the meetings of Revenue Mobilization, Investment and Trade (REMIT) programme, in World Bank Roundtables and in the meetings of National Tax Council (NTC) helped SRB in the matters of harmonization of tax laws and procedures besides giving exposure to best international practices in the matters of VAT/Sales Tax.
I extend my appreciation to the Chairman and all officers and staff of SRB for their exemplary performance and for turning SRB into a model revenue collection agency. I am optimistic that SRB will continue its performance standards in assisting the Government for better lives and welfare of its citizens while overcoming potential challenges in the future.
